She started her musical journey on accordion at the age of 4 and moved to piano and violin in high school and college. Lynette played in a folk dance band for many years and became interested in Balkan music. It was during this time that she took up the euphonium to play in Serbian Balkan Brass bands. After starting and running her own musical groups, she joined community bands to broaden her playing experience. Lynette is involved with Windjammers Unlimited, a non-profit US based group centered around preserving and playing traditional circus music and is involved locally with several community bands. She also plays violin with the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Savoyards, of which she is currently the orchestra manager and show producer and enjoys playing in the pit for musicals.
